Parlament der Weltreligionen – Parliament of the World’s Religions: 1893 – 1993 – 2018 (aktualisiert)

In seinem Beitrag „Hundert Jahre Religionsdialog“ schrieb der Religionswissenschaftler Udo Tworuschka: „1993 schlugen die Herzen vieler interreligiös Engagierter höher … Chicago 1893 markiert den Beginn eines Jahrhunderts weltweit-interreligiösen Dialogs … Aus der Vogelschau sieht man heute deutlicher, wie seit den denkwürdigen Tagen von Chicago viele interreligiöse Rinnsale, Bäche und Ströme zum Teil nebeneinander her-, und dann zunehmend zusammenfließen.“

Das 1893 in Chicago zum ersten Mal organisierte Parlament der Weltreligionen (auch: Weltparlament der Religionen) wird zum Schlüsselerlebnis für Initiativen, die die engen Grenzen der eigenen kulturellen und religiösen Traditionen überwinden wollen.
